Terms & Conditions
Please read carefully. The terms and conditions below ensure that we are given the best opportunity to provide you with our best work, client experience and quality.
If you have any questions please contact Andrew: 083 0093265 / andrew@andrewcollinsphotography.com
I agree to pay a non-refundable deposit of €200 to Andrew Collins Photography to secure my booking. Cash, Cheques and Bank Transfers are payable to Andrew Collins.
I agree that bookings will not be taken without a booking deposit.
I agree to pay the outstanding balance in full on or before the day of the wedding.
I agree that in order for backup, processing and editing of the photographs and video from the wedding day to begin, Andrew / Derek require that full payment be made on or before the day of the wedding.
I agree to a pre-wedding meeting in person or at a minimum a phone call with Andrew approximately 2-4 weeks before my wedding day to run through all of the finer details such as confirming times, the layout of the days events, family members names / relationships, etc. This will ensure Andrew captures all of the necessary photographs and family members.
I agree to provide a list of photographs I would like captured on the wedding day in the pre-wedding meeting, with special attention given to the photoshoot at the reception with the bridal party, family, and other guests. This will help streamline the photoshoot and minimize the chances of missing important photos with specific individuals. While Andrew captures the natural flow of the day, he kindly suggests including specific family members, bridal party members, and guests in this list, along with their names and their relationship to the bride and groom. Additionally, Andrew suggests noting any special moments or unique events, such as sparklers, singing waiters, birthday celebrations, pets, magicians, comedians, fireworks, and similar activities, so they can be appropriately captured.
I acknowledge that the success of the photography and videography greatly depends on the cooperation of the Bride & Groom, Bridal party, family, guests and the conditions at the event. To ensure everything runs smoothly, Andrew kindly suggests that the Bride / Groom designate an 'event guide' (example the best man or another member of the bridal party) who can assist in identifying key individuals for photographs and videos, and help organize groups for efficient and seamless photo sessions.
I agree that Andrew (Photography) / Derek (Video) need to arrive at the preparations 2.5 hours before the bride is due to leave for the ceremony. This will enable Andrew / Derek to capture photographs & video of the Dress, Shoes, Flowers, Jewellery etc before the bride gets dressed. This will also give Andrew / Derek enough time to capture relaxed & candid photographs / video of the preparations.
I agree that the Bride, Bridesmaids, Bride’s family members, Groom, Groomsmen and Groom’s family members will be fully dressed, have hair and makeup complete and be ready for formal photographs 45 minutes before leaving the house / room / location of preparations. This will enable Andrew and Derek to capture photographs & video before leaving for the ceremony. Photographs / Video of this vital part of the day will be compromised if any of the above people are not dressed and ready on time. Andrew and Derek must be given reasonable time to capture photographs and video of this vital part of the day. If the bride / groom are not ready at this time it will also lead to Andrew and Derek being unable to capture the ceremony location before filling with guests and the guests arriving at the ceremony location as they will be photographing the Bride / Groom at this time instead. In these circumstances, and if there is still time, Andrew / Derek may ask if you prefer to have photos of the ceremony location and guests arriving, or photos of the Bride / Groom fully ready before the ceremony. Andrew / Derek will give gentle reminders of the time throughout the preparations.
If the space for bridal preparations is limited, Andrew / Derek may suggest taking a brief moment before the ceremony to capture some formal photographs and video in another suitable location, whether outdoors or in an alternative indoor setting which is preferably on the way to the ceremony. Andrew / Derek will make every effort to ensure this process is smooth and does not require any additional effort from the bridal party.
I agree that Andrew (Photographs) & Derek (Video) must leave the preparations in good time to arrive at the ceremony location approximately 30 minutes before the ceremony is due to start. This will be even earlier if there is a signifigant distance to the ceremony location.
I understand that the Gospel, Homily, Consecration and Communion may not be filmed / photographed as the celebrant may not give permission to photograph / film these parts.
I acknowledge that it is not Andrew / Derek's responsibility to instruct or guide family, guests, or members of the bridal party on where to sit or stand during the ceremony. Andrew / Derek will focus on capturing the natural flow of events and will only provide direction during the ceremony for the posed photos of the signing of the register.
I understand that Andrew Collins Photography / Reel Irish Wedding can not accept responsibility for restrictions such as physical obstructions or instruction from the Celebrant(s) or guests regarding photographing / filming of the wedding ceremony.
I understand that due to traffic delays or obstructions that are beyond our control it may not be possible for the Photographer(s) & Videographer(s) to film the Bride and Groom arriving at the reception.
It generally takes approximately 20 minutes for a couple to greet their guests and loved ones after a ceremony. The entire receiving line is not photographed / filmed. Specific moments are selected and photographed / filmed from various angles.
I agree that should the First Dance commence after 10.00pm an hourly charge of €150 will apply and I will be invoiced accordingly.
I agree that if there is less than average (example less than 90 guests) at the wedding then it may not be possible to acheive the number of final photographs listed in the package. I also agree that if I choose a custom / tailored package that has less than whole day coverage (example no preparations or no speeches, dancing etc) then it may not be possible to acheive the same number of final photographs listed / expected in that of a whole day package. Andrew will endeavour to capture as many images as possible, however the final number of images will be determined by the number of guests at the wedding and the duration of photography services provided on the day.
I confirm that I have carefully reviewed Andrew & Derek's portfolio and am fully satisfied with their style, lighting, composition, and editing. I understand and agree that my wedding photographs and video will reflect this style, lighting, and overall aesthetic.
I understand that Andrew takes great care to ensure that all photographs reflect the artistic style showcased in his portfolio. As such, Andrew does not provide edits or alterations beyond the natural representation of his established style. Requests for re-edits or changes outside of this style will not be accommodated.
I acknowledge that for weddings taking place in the winter months, when it gets dark earlier, the lighting in the photographs and video will naturally have a more wintery tone.
I understand that for wedding ceremonies starting later than 2pm during late autumn, winter, and early spring, it will likely be close to, or completely dark by the time everyone arrives at the reception and for the photoshoot. In these cases Andrew / Derek will have to use Flash / Lighting for the photoshoot. However, some venues have more than sufficient ambient lighting for weddings during these times of the year.
I acknowledge that in the event of rain or strong winds during the scheduled photoshoot time, Andrew may kindly request that the bride and groom, along with the bridal party and family, step outside after dinner if the rain or wind has stopped and there is still sufficient daylight, in order to capture outdoor photographs of the bride, groom, bridal party, and family. This is a priority, as these images add a unique and memorable element to the wedding photographs, and there is only one opportunity to capture them. However, if the venue provides adequate space, lighting, and suitable backgrounds, indoor photographs may be more than sufficient in the case of rain or wind.
I understand that Andrew Collins Photography retains the right to the Final Cut / Final Selection of Images / Final edits. Any editing changes after delivery will incur a further charge.
I understand that in the unlikely event of any act that may cause loss or damage to audio, video or photographs, Andrew Collins Photography retains the right to a limit of liability of all monies paid.
I understand that all BluRay discs are not compatible with all players. (Video)
I agree that Andrew Collins Photography reserves the right to cancel a booking. If this unlikely event should occur (e.g. force majeure), repayment of all refundable monies will be made.
I understand that Andrew Collins Photography cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in the post.
I agree that Andrew Collins Photography (photographs) & Reel Irish Wedding (video) retains copyright over all photographs, video and audio footage. Extracts may be used for promotional purposes such as websites, social media, etc.
I understand that my completed wedding photographs and video will be ready approximately 10-14 weeks from my wedding date. This period will be longer in peak season.
I understand that due to an ever increasing demand in workflow it is not possible for Andrew (Photography) or Derek (Videography) to send any previews of photographs or video to the Bride or Groom before the 10-14 week turnaround period.
I understand that my completed wedding album(s) will be ready approximately approximately 6 weeks after choosing the set of images for said album(s).
I agree to choose the photographs for the wedding album within 3 months of receiving the final photographs.
I understand that once the go ahead is given to print the album(s) it is not possible to make any changes.
I agree that if for any reason I am unhappy with the wedding photographs or video I agree to immediately get in touch with Andrew Collins Photography (photographs) / Reel Irish Wedding (video), in writing, detailing what is wrong. The client must do this within 14 days of receipt/delivery of the wedding photographs / video. Extra editing may incur additional charges depending on what it entails. If something is wrong with the edit, and if it’s the fault of Andrew Collins Photography / Reel Irish Wedding, and if it can be rectified, Andrew Collins Photography / Reel Irish Wedding agree to rectify the error and send new edits to the client without charge.
I agree that Andrew Collins Photography (photographs) & Reel Irish Wedding (video) shall be granted full artistic license by the client, and Andrew’s (photographs) Derek's (video) judgement regarding photographing, filming and editing shall be deemed correct unless previously discussed and agreed with the client prior to the event/occasion in writing.
I agree that no responsibility is accepted by Andrew or Derek if speeches or other events of the day happen spontaneously outside of the previously agreed upon times and are subsequently not captured as a result.
Colour photography is undertaken within the technical limitations of the process and certain colours may not necessarily be facsimile over the whole range of colours within a subject / fabric / material. Prints made at different times or from different printers may be variable in colour balance, this also applies to digital photographs or video being viewed on different screens / viewing platforms. Certain lighting conditions and can cause the colour of fabrics / materials to appear differently to both the human eye in real time and in digital format (digital camera sensors), giving incorrect colour beyond the photographer’s / videographer’s control – please discuss with the Andrew / Derek (photographer / videographer) if you are in any doubt, as Andrew / Derek cannot be held responsible for the natural colour deviation in fabrics / materials / objects which may occur under a range of different lighting conditions both indoors and outdoors throughout the course of the wedding day. Andrew / Derek will always endeavour to provide a pleasing colour balance but cannot guarantee exact colour matching for these reasons.
Moire Effect on Certain Fabrics and Materials - Please be advised that certain fabrics or materials with repetitive grid patterns, such as fine-checkered designs or mesh fabrics, can cause a visual phenomenon known as "moire." Moiré occurs when repetitive patterns in clothing or background elements interfere with the camera’s sensor resolution, resulting in unwanted lines, color distortions, and artifacts in the image. While we take every precaution to minimize this effect, it may still occur in certain situations and is beyond our control. We recommend avoiding highly patterned clothing for the best photographic results.
Colour dyes and inks used in photography may fade or discolour over time due to the inherent qualities of dyes and inks, and the Client releases Andrew Collins from any liability for any claims whatsoever based upon fading or discolouration due to such inherent qualities. Andrew however promises to use all reasonable endeavours to minimise the possibilities of fading or discolouration over time, including the use of proven, reliable techniques and high quality photographic materials.
Andrew / Derek shall exercise all reasonable skill, care and diligence in the discharge of their duties. It is understood, however, that in the event of any unforeseen exceptional circumstances outside the control of Andrew / Derek causing loss of photographic record, Andrew / Derek will only be responsible for the return of all monies paid to date, although every effort will be made to retake the photographs / video.
On occasions and without notice it may be necessary for Andrew or Derek to be substituted by another photographer or videographer (e.g. due to ill health).
No advanced retouching (example skin smoothening, face swaps, reshaping / altering of faces or bodies) shall be applied to photographs or video.
There shall be no removal of persons from final photographs or video, whether wanted or unwanted in the photographs / video at the time of capture.
Where clients are supplied digital images / video on DVD, CD, memory stick, file transfer or other digital or online means the client is responsible for making backup copies and for keeping them safe and they are advised to keep at least one backup copy in a different location to the master copies. Whilst Andrew / Derek may keep digital files for a reasonable time after a project has been completed it reserves the right to dispose of files once a project has been completed and digital files have been supplied to the client. Andrew / Derek cannot guarantee to store digital files indefinitely.
For weddings, unless otherwise agreed in writing, Andrew / Derek shall be the exclusive photographer / videographer retained by the Client for the purpose of photographing / videoing the wedding. “Content Creators” , Family and friends of the Client shall be permitted to photograph / video the wedding as long as they shall not interfere with the Photographer / videographer.
Andrew / Derek will always endeavour to photograph any pre-agreed shoot list, however it is understood that it is not always possible to photograph every guest or every detail at a wedding. Furthermore, due to the fluid nature of a wedding day Andrew / Derek cannot be held responsible if it is not possible to photograph the shoot list in its entirety due to time constraints, venue constraints, lighting constraints, unforeseen circumstances or the unwillingness of people to be photographed. The client understands and accepts that the photographic coverage will be as the photographer’s professional expertise determines and that no one photograph will be deemed more important than another. Special requests are not binding instruction, although every effort is made to comply with the client’s wishes. Any special requests not notified in the pre wedding meeting must be made by the client to Andrew / Derek in writing. Andrew / Derek shall be granted complete artistic license including in relation to the poses photographed and the locations used. The photographer’s judgement regarding the locations/poses and number of images taken shall be final. Due to the vagaries of the weather and the unwillingness of the subjects it may not be possible to capture all the images requested.
In the unlikely event of photographic failure or cancellation of the contract by either party or in any other circumstance the liability of one party to the other shall be limited to the total value of the contract. Neither party shall be liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Any complaints should be raised by the client with Andrew / Derek, in writing, within 14 days of first becoming aware of the matter to be complained of and in any event within 14 days of receipt of the images.
I agree to the following terms on UAV’S - (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles / Drones) Photographs & Filming:
UAV’s can not fly in strong winds, any kind of precipitation or adverse weather conditions.
UAV’s can not take off or fly in or near areas such as, but not limited to, Geofenced Locations, Airports, Flight Paths of Airports, Air Fields, Army Barracks, Garda Stations, Power Stations, Data Centres, Govermnment Buildings, Stadiums, City Centers or any other locations of a sensetive nature.
Permissions can be given by the IAA to fly in certain locations, under certain conditions (ie; altitude limitations) but can be revoked at any moment with no explanation. Decisions made by the IAA (Irish Aviation Authority) and Air traffic control (if close to airports or flight paths) to grant, refuse or change permissions at any time are beyond the control of Andrew / Derek.
UAV’s can not fly in certain areas such as, but not limited to, Seaside Towns, Riverside Towns or Bogland during the nesting seasons of birds / wildlife due to limitations on use of UAV’s during these seasons at or near these locations. This is due to a risk of risk criminal prosecution (Wildlife act 1976), risk of injury or disturbance to wildlife, risk of damage to our UAV and risk of loss of our UAV license.
It is the couple's responsibility to obtain permissions from the venue for UAV work to take place.
Andrew / Derek will comply with all rules and regulations set out by the IAA to ensure safe flying at all times, including, but not limited to, safe distances from all people and buildings and the UAV can not fly directly overhead of a mass group of people for safety reasons.

The UAV can only be flown during daylight hours.
The footage being shot by the UAV will mainly consist of aerial footage of landscapes close to or at the ceremony or venue location.
For safety reasons the UAV operator Andrew (Photos) or Derek (Video) can not be disturbed, distracted or engage in conversation when operating the drone for any reason except in the case of an emergency.
UAV’s can not be operated inside buildings.
When time constraints are an issue it is more important for Andrew (Photos) & Derek (Video) to ensure that all key moments are catured on the ground with their handheld cameras before UAV Photographs / Video are captured from the air. Photographs & Video from the ground will take precedence.
